The icons, designed by Carmen Golan de Gruel alias "K. Mucha", are inspired from personages or scenes from the Bible painted on the stained glass windows of Medieval chapels, churches and cathedral throughout Europe, as well as found in rare Medieval illuminated manuscript and prayer books. The choice and use of bright colors are typical of South American art, of which the artist is deeply impregnated.
The 4"x6" images are paper reproductions of original glass artworks, laid on a metallic base and covered with an enamel vinyl layer. With their superb burnished gold wooden frames , the plates compose exquisite 7" x9" framed works.
