Le Flambadou
French Culinary Earthenware

User's Instructions

Before using “Le Flambadou” cookware for the first time we recommend immerging it in cold water for 1/2 hour. The marble effect and bubbles that will occur on the surface are caused by porosity and are quite normal. Use the cookware once it is totally dry. Please note that the “Le Flambadou” cooking process may be slower than cooking with regular metal or Pyrex dishes. On an another hand, the food cooks evenly while retaining all its natural qualities. Please read carefully and follow the directions below:

A/  For gas, and ceramic range tops.

1 - Pour 1/2” of water in the bottom of your dish or grease it entirely with oil or butter.
2 - Heat the cookware on the lowest temperature setting for 5 minutes.
3 - After 5 minutes on “LOW”, adjust the temperature to the desired setting for cooking.

N.B. This procedure must be done each time you use the pots.
Also, electric tops may work but we decline any responsibility in case of breakage as heating system differ from one electric stove to another.

B/ For Ovens or microwaves.

1 - Do not place your cookware in a preheated oven.  Instead, place the dish in a cold oven.
2 - Then turn the oven on to the desired temperature and cooking time (same as metal / Pyrex)
3 - When the cooking time is over, turn the oven off and keep your dish inside the oven for 10 more minutes before serving it.

“Le Flambadou” earthenware is totally microwave safe

C/ Once your dish is ready to be served :

Place the hot cookware only on a wood, cloth or cork surface after it has been removed from the heating element. Do not place it directly on a cold surface such as a ceramic counter top as this would cause irreparable damage due to the sharp contrast in temperatures that would occur.

D/ Washing

“Le Flambadou” cookware is dishwasher safe. Anyhow for a longer and safer use we strongly recommend to simply soak the cookware in warm water without using detergent and scrubbing its surface. Then allow it to air dry naturally and uncovered for 24 hours to avoid lingering odors.
